NEWS
BIG NEWS - and I'll need your help with this!
The MAMMA Series continues, except it's a walk. A long walk.
I will be hiking the Camino Frances in Spain this September and into October 2019 to help raise funds for the Alzheimer Society.
The Pilgrimage will start in France, over the Pyrenees Mountains into Spain, and wind up at the Atlantic Ocean (The End of the World). It'll be about 1000 km.
My 'purpose' is to encourage awareness about Alzheimer's and dementia, disorders that affect so many,
I am humbly asking you, to climb on my back with your kind donations in-hand, and give this worthy cause some meaning.
This is the time for you to show you care.
To help you along, for every donation of $100. or more, I am going to randomly choose a name on three different dates;
May 1st, August 1st, and November 1st. Those people will select one limited edition Mamma Print (unframed) of their choice from the series of 100 as my gift. The value of each print is $2500.
So, my heart is now open...
and so is the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce donation page.
Please share with everyone, and ask them to share as well.
The end goal is limitless.
Thank you so much.
Tony Luciani

Tony Luciani, “MAMMA: In The Meantime”
Villa Charities is proud to present this powerful photographic tale of an extraordinary and unconventional relationship between the artist and his muse.
Tony and his nonagenarian mother Elia embark on a journey of discovery where art becomes the perfect medium to express the grief and wonders of living with Dementia.
Elia’s powerful features, wearing with pride the signs of the years past, lead us into unknown territory, made of simple discoveries, renewed pleasures, and everyday struggles. Poetic moments captured by her son Tony’s indulgent and loving eye; a visual testament reminding us that life with all its challenges is indeed worth living.
Ageing is one of the hardest truths that we are all inevitably called upon to accept. Luciani with this work artfully tackles a difficult and timely subject with elegance, warmth and empathy. Experience this scintillating example of how an artist and his muse can symbiotically succeed in delivering a message of hope.
We are honoured to partner with the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce on this project and would like to thank the Istituto di Cultura Italiano in Toronto for partnering with us on the programming activities connected to the exhibition.
RSVP by February 8th if you'd like to attend the opening reception. Limited invitations for this night. Meet mamma!
